The Palworld Official Card Game arrived ready to battle at both Gamers Guild locations last week, drawing a strong turnout for the release of Dawn of Palpagos.
Based on the hit survival game developed by Pocketpair, the Palworld Official Card Game is a two-player competitive TCG from Bushiroad where players deploy teams of Pals, gather resources, and build structures to control the battlefield. Much like the Palworld video game.
Twenty-nine players gathered in Tempe and another 27 joined us in North Phoenix for our Palworld TCG Grand Release Tournaments. The winners left with new playmats featuring illustrations of Lily Everhart & Lyleen. Everyone left knowing a little more about what their Pals and their decks could do.
The Grand Release Tournaments are complete, but the competitive scene isn’t slowing down. The Palworld League begins August 11, bringing weekly opportunities to battle, test, and tune your deck at both Gamers Guild locations.
Your first match can make a Trial Deck feel like it needs to be rebuilt from the base up, but you don’t have to. Start with the deck in front of you and learn how it plays.
Each deck uses a 50-card Main Deck alongside 10 Soul cards. Play a few matches before changing anything. The cards supporting your strategy will become clear. So will the ones sitting in your hand doing absolutely nothing. (Sorry, Cremis)
When it is time to make changes, give every card a job. A favorite Pal can be the heart of a deck, but the heart still needs a plan. Look for cards that help gather resources, protect the board, and keep the deck moving toward victory. Change one or two cards at a time, then play again. Rebuilding everything overnight makes it hard to know what helped and what quietly made things worse.

The Palworld League kicks off August 11th at both stores. Leagues run over several weeks instead of a single night, which means more time to tune a deck between matches instead of building blind. League registration is $75, and materials will be available for pickup beginning August 7. Once the League begins, players meet weekly on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in North Phoenix and Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in Tempe.
