What Is Tend?
Tend is lovingly referred to as a flip-and-scratch-and-roll-and tick-and-stamp-and-write game. Games are played over 12 rounds, with five phases per round. Each turn, players select and complete tasks from a shared set of task cards. Tasks change from round to round as more task cards are added. Victory points are earned by being the most productive farmers. Players show their productivity by mining, fishing, cultivating forests, collecting badges and medals, completing season objectives, being the friendliest neighbor, and filling up their cargo manifests.
Tend Strategy Tips
According to friend-of-the-store Austin at IV Studio, the best way to play is by focusing on one area, such as mining, as your major focus and another as a minor focus. Tackling too many different areas will spread you too thin. As the saying goes, better to do one thing well than 10 things poorly. They also recommend securing an upgraded tool early on in the game to make good use of the extra action it offers. If you're a fan of extra actions, you'll want to utilize energy bars too for another set of extra actions.
