Using a deck-crafting system with transparent cards, you'll protect locations from endless swarms of minions while improving your skills. Can you power up fast enough to stop the villain from destroying Mud Canyon and save the day? Pick a character and grab your starting deck; each character has a special ability and their own deck with custom cards that fit their style of play. On your turn, use the symbols on the cards in your hand to travel to new locations (some of which allow special actions), to defeat minions before they overrun a location (each of which has a limit), and to use Knuckles (the "fearless" mercenary bear) to scare off minions. When battling minions, you need to match the colors of the minion with the color of your attack to defeat them. There are four different colors to match, and some minions take two colors to defeat, so plan your card play carefully, and don't get pig-headed. Some minions will bite back, so keep an eye on your health as well. For each minion defeated, you gain skills and money, and with enough skill points, you'll get free attacks. Spend your cash to buy attack cards and special cards at the Rat Market. Ham Helsing may be a co-operative game, but the buying is a free-for-all, so be a greedy pig and grab your gear quick — or help everyone think through the best cards for the different decks, you do you. Attack cards let you do more damage in battle, move, heal, and more. Special cards are where things get interesting with combos, shared bonuses, and damage boosters. Upgrade cards are transparent, so if a symbol can fit on your card, you can slip that upgrade into the sleeve of a starting card. Not only is it a pig deal that you are literally upgrading your deck as you defeat minions, but you're improving the cards you'll use on your next turn! When you feel strong enough, go after the villain. The game includes four villains, each with a different starting health, special ability, and power-ups. Villains will power up when a location on the board is lost. After each round, the villain moves one location closer to Mud Canyon. If you haven't brought the villain's health to 0 by the end of the last player's turn at Mud Canyon, your bacon is burnt.

These new features include a Campaign Mode, with Enemy Generals, Skills that Heroes can learn, Advanced Regions and Caravans. Caravans represent the shattered homes of villagers during this dark time and are spread across all the Regions. Players are faced with the additional challenge of rescuing these Caravans and escorting them safely to the Capital City before they are can defeat the Epic Foe. Experience Points are now earned during play by making meaningful decisions that help the party reach their goals. The Campaign Mode plays like an evolving gauntlet challenge, where players must play through the game multiple times facing Generals at the intervals instead of the regular Epic Foe. The different abilities players will have at their disposal, as well as the threats they face, are unique to each Campaign and evolve with the choices players make during each Campaign. If players can survive long enough, they will face an Epic Foe at the conclusion of the Campaign. The Advanced Regions introduce new threats and also new abilities to aid the players in The Dark War. These new threats and abilities come in the way of 3D constructs like a giant Tree Heroes can hide in, a flying Manticore Heroes can ride, or mysterious Sandstorms! They play a big part of the evolving Campaign Mode. Each Advanced Region features a dark, harmful, side and a light, helpful, side. As player progress through the Campaign Mode, they will work to restore the dark regions to their helpful side. In the Irish myth cycles, the land of Tir na nog is the realm of the Otherworld, the place where the Fairies lived and heroes visited on quests. It was a place just outside the realm of man, off to the west, where there was no illness or death or time, but only happiness and beauty. The golden path to Tr na ng is open once more, and the greatest Celtic storytellers have gathered for a once-in-a-lifetime journey. When they return, they'll bring with them tales of the creatures they met and the adventures they lived. Over time those stories will become a saga and the most epic saga will live on forever. Journey to the Otherworld in Tr na ng by placing storytellers between story cards in the shared grid. When all storytellers have been placed, in reverse player order draft cards and add them to your hand. From your hand, you'll then add cards to your personal tableau: one card to hand, one card played. At the end of five rounds, score each row according to the rules on its corresponding goal card, and earn points for having the most connected story cards of each color. The highest score wins.

Inori
In the Inori Valley, villages are built under a giant sacred tree in which spirits live. All year long, village chiefs make offerings to these spirits and assemble altars in the hope of becoming the Great Tree Guardian for the next year. For each of the four seasons comprising a complete game of Inori, players place their offering markers on the spirit cards or on altars for the Great Tree. This allows them to activate abilities, earn points, or obtain favor tokens. At the end of a season, a spirit card with all spaces occupied gains bonus points and is replaced, creating new opportunities. At the end of the game, offerings for the Great Tree give points according to their color for players having the most favors of each color. The Guardian of the Great Tree for the next year is the player with the most points.

Nidavellir: Thingvellir
Mandated by the King, visit every tavern in the kingdom, hire the most skillful dwarves to save Nidavellir, and rely on Queen Dagfid who has called for help brave mercenaries and their precious artifacts. Now, the Elvaland can instead of recruiting a Dwarf card or Royal Offering card in the tavern, choose to go to the Camp to take a Magic Artefact or recruit a Mercenary card. In the event of a tie to determine the highest bet on a current tavern, refer to the gem values as in the basic game. Only the Elvaland with the highest bet can go to the Camp and take a card. The other Elvalands must, in order of resolution, take a card from the tavern being resolved.
