Endearment
It is a time of elegance, wit, and exacting decorum, and you, a handsome young lady of respectable family and pleasing address, have just completed the perusal of a most delightfully engaging novel. You begin to consider, were you a heroine upon such pages, whether your character would be marked by wit and charm, vigour and capability, honour and wealth. Amidst the genteel diversions and drawing-room delights so prettily described, your heart begins to fix not on the trifles, but on the heroine’s romance, and you find yourself, perhaps unwisely, wishing for a story not unlike her own. Endearment is a strategy board game where you take on the role of one of Jane Austen's beloved heroines as you traverse Regency England, improve your traits, and engage in social rivalries in pursuit of a timeless romance. The game is played over a series of Chapters. At the start of each Chapter, Settings and Characters are added to the game board, and a Plot card is drawn. Then players take turns visiting Town to gain Persuasion from the Tea House, buy Dresses from the Modiste, and invite or search for Characters in the Character deck and discard. Once all players have performed their Town actions, players take turns visiting Settings and interacting with Characters in a series of rounds until all Settings have been visited and the Chapter ends. As with any Jane Austen novel, the game ends with a wedding (or sometimes more than one wedding)! Once one or more players are married, the current Chapter is completed, the game ends, and bonus points are scored. The player with the most Endearment wins!

Cloudspire: Keel - Faction Expansion
It’s All About the Spires Spire placement is always important in Cloudspire, but never more so than for the keel. The keel spires represent the darkness of the keel’s void-based technology casting a shadow across the land. As such, spire placement on a tile is the only way a keel unit can transform into its much more powerful promoted version. Some spires even impart new abilities to the promoted minions, creating an even more potent situation for the faction’s enemies. But beware! If your minion leaves an island hex with a keel spire on it, it will flip back over to its non-promoted version. To stay mighty, you’ll have to maintain a firm hand over the Source wells along your path. Heroes of Ankar The keel also boast some of the game’s most dynamic heroes. The faction’s starting hero, Chira, has the ability to increase the keel’s CP (pending proper spire placement, of course), while the keel leader General Eko counts as a spire in his own right. And don’t sleep on Chira, whose Poise ability is a personal favorite in the Chip Theory offices. Poise allows minions to increase or decrease their movement stat, a huge factor in strategic play that can keep your forces more powerful for an extra turn or help them push ahead to a quick victory.

Cloudspire: Shada - Faction Expansion
The Shada is a powerful new elemental-based faction that takes advantage of terrain differences the way no other faction ever has. Each Shada minion has a specific type of terrain it can move on in addition to path, forcing you and your opponents to view the map differently and take advantage of each unique layout. In addition to the unique terrain movement abilities, each minion has a special ability it can take advantage of while on that terrain. The faction’s spires also benefit from specific terrain placement, boosting their abilities and promoting strategic tile control and variety. Terrain bonuses become even more lethal with fortress upgrades that tie boosted CP and multi-terrain types into spire placement. Combine Your Forces The Shada boast a unique promotion system in which their four basic minion types (stone, wind, fire, and water) can combine with each other and form unique and powerful new minions. Fire and water become steam, and wind and stone become dust. These new minions boast new terrain allowances and abilities, and their high combination variety allows you to adapt your strategy to every new opponent. Your fortress upgrades will also boost your combination abilities, allowing you new opportunities and Source rewards for combining units. The ambitious Shada player can even grab the Bioweapon die, allowing them to combine already promoted units for explosive results!
$43.00
Cloudspire: The Graft - Faction Expansion
Grotesque Reflection The majority of The Graft’s minions are “grafted” versions of familiar minions from other factions that The Graft has absorbed into its ever-growing mass of tissue. You’ll recognize familiar talents that can be used in deadly new combinations against their former compatriots. Since The Graft is one giant organism, it has a unique promotion mechanic that involves absorbing defeated grafted minions into nearby spires. When those minions redeploy in a later wave, they come out on their promoted side, in which they have been grafted yet again with another previously-existing minion type. It’s gross, yes, but it’s also a riotously fun take on past factions that will have you thinking about your skills in a new way. Nucleus of Power But it’s not all about grafted minions. The heart of The Graft is Nucleus, the faction’s starting hero that also operates as a mobile fortress gate. The Graft’s fortress upgrades often impart new abilities to Nucleus itself, leading to a powerhouse that you can deploy to ravage your enemy (and, if you’re not careful, a tempting target for your opponent to take down). Though Nucleus is the brains of the operation, The Graft also is home to a variety of parasitic worms that live in its many nooks and crannies. These worms have a variety of nasty abilities, but one of the worst is Infest, which allows the worms to embed themselves in opposing heroes and villains and drain their HP away, step by deadly step. There are two types of minions in the Graft’s arsenal: worms and grafted units. Worms are semi-autonomous creatures who thrive in the folds of the Graft and who can be called upon for nasty parasitic purposes. Some of them spit acid, but all of them have in common the Infest ability, which allows them to burrow into opposing units and cause them to take damage whenever they attack. If you see one of your worms about to take the fall, try to use its Infest ability, denying your opponent a Source reward and hastening their demise in the process. Grafted units are melds of familiar base game faction units. When they upgrade, they will gain additional abilities from a different base game faction unit, symbolizing the Graft’s further processing and reshaping of the matter it absorbs. They also look pretty gross, and we love that for them. Besides Nucleus, the two other Graft heroes fall into one of the two unit types. Fury Worm represents a particularly powerful worm unit, while Graft King Nestor is the former heir monarch (brother to Jaelana) who has fallen prey to the Graft’s onslaught.

Bear Mountain Camping Adventure: Extreme Weather
Don't forget your umbrella and rain boots to combat the extreme weather introduced in this expansion. Earn a lantern to protect your hand and experience even more fun activities. With this expansion, weather will affect how the game is played through Weather Events. All of the possible Weather Events are shown across the Weather Board. The game is played in rounds. The first round starts before the first player takes their turn, and ends when the gameplay gets back around to the first player (just before they take their second turn). The purpose of the Weather Event Tracker matching the color of the first player's Player Mover (camper) is so that all players know exactly when each round begins and ends. At the beginning of each round, players decide who will roll the Weather Die for the round (it doesn't matter who rules the dice each round), to see which Weather Event will take effect. To know which die to roll each round, you will look at the forecast. If the Forecast Token is sitting on a sunny space then you'll rule the white Weather Die. If it's sitting on a stormy space, you'll roll the black Weather Die. Since the Forecast Token starts on his sunny space, you'll roll the white Weather Die for the first round. After rolling the die, move the Weather Event Tracker to the Weather Event for that round. This way, all players will know what the Event is throughout the round. You can then put the Weather Die back in its space on the Weather Board.

En Route
En Route is a flip-and-write game in which you create tour routes to the most interesting landmarks of the real-world cities (London, New York City, Hong Kong, Paris, Cairo, and Rio de Janeiro) and the made-up First City packed full of geek references. Cards are not flipped randomly instead, an active player plays one card face up, and two players next to them secretly choose one card each. Then, an active player selects one of the two and discards the other. After that, all players use coordinates and other information from the two cards left on the table to draw their tourists and routes. During the game, route segments are drawn, connecting different types of tourists to various landmarks and attractions. A game of En Route lasts exactly 10 rounds. At the end of the game, each place of interest on the final route will earn players Prestige Points according to its rules. Whoever creates the most satisfying tour route, wins.

Like most deckbuilding games, players start with weak hands, and strengthen their deck as play progresses. When a player has at least “7” buying power on their turn, they can opt to go into the “vault” and draw 2 cards. They then choose one of the cards to keep, and the other is removed from the game. This is where the “victory points” are, and other powerful cards. You can win by “point count” or “color matching”. Game will be available for sale here and at retail by April or May. Check back soon or email us at buddypalgames@gmail.com and we will let you know when they arrive at the warehouse and ready for sale. A very special thanks to all our Kickstarter backers!YOU ARE THE BEST!

Yomi: Persephone Deck
Yomi (second edition) updates the original Yomi game with slight rule modifications and balance tweaks, in addition to adding ten new characters. Yomi is a fighting game in card form in which physical dexterity is replaced by hand management skills. Just like in a fighting game, you have to know your character, know the matchup, and know your opponent. Each character has a deck that follows the same conventions as deck of playing cards. This makes it easy to learn the contents of your deck: numbered cards are normal moves, face cards are special moves, and aces are super moves. Yomi is a competitive card game specifically designed and balanced to hold up to tournament play with many years of playtesting and tournaments behind it. It tests the skills of valuation and Yomi. Valuation refers to your ability to judge the relative value of moves (or cards) as they change over the course of the game. Yomi, the game's title, refers to your ability to "read" the patterns that your opponent unconsciously falls into. It's designed for high level play to be as interesting as possible and as balanced as possible. Game Modes 1v1, the main mode 2v2 Team Battle, inspired by video games such as Marvel vs Capcom A solo mode to learn basic proficiency against an automated opponent A 3v3 mode (can be played as 1v1 with multiple characters) inspired by video games such as King of Fighters Gameplay Each player shuffles their deck and draws an opening hand of seven cards. Turns are simultaneous and players draw one card per turn. Each player plays a combat card face down, then reveals the cards simultaneously. Resolve combat. Blocking an attack lets you draw a card; hitting with an attack or throw allows you to combo more cards from your hand; dodging an attack lets you hit back with a single move. Bluff phase. After it's resolved who won combat, but before any combos are played, the player who might get hit by a combo can play a facedown Joker or bluff card. After the attacker finishes their combo, reveal that facedown card. If it's a Joker, the combo does no damage. If it's a non-Joker card, the combo does full damage as usual. Power up: Players can discard pairs, 3-of-a-kinds, or 4-of-a-kinds to search their decks for Aces (super moves). Also, if they performed any chain combos (straights of sequential normal attacks, such as a 2,3,4,5) that turn, they can also search for Aces. The game ends when one player is reduced to 0 life, or when one player draws the last card of their deck. In that case, time is out and the player with the highest life wins.

This makes it easy to learn the contents of your deck: numbered cards are normal moves, face cards are special moves, and aces are super moves. Yomi: Round 2 is a standalone item that contains four characters (out of twenty) for the second edition of Yomi. With these characters, you can compete in 1v1, 2v2, 2v1, and solo modes, with each player in the game needing one character deck. The character decks in Yomi: Round 2 can also be played against those in Yomi: Round 1 or any of the individual character decks that comprise the second edition of Yomi. As for the characters, they are: • Quince (challenging to play well) Quince can play TWO cards in combat sometimes! Quince can spin his combat card around after seeing what the opponent played! Politicians are straightforward and truthful, but this deck is very tricky to play • Onimaru (easy to understand) Onimaru has attacks that can beat any other attacks in the game. Onimaru relies on single hits for high damage, rather than big combos. He can guard crush through an opponent's block. • Bal-Bas-Beta (very difficult to understand) Put your opponent at long range and they can't even damage BBB, but BBB can damage them. BBB can play relatively safely while dealing low damage, then shift to high damage plays to end the game. Robots have a lot of moving parts, so it takes some thinking to understand BBB, but once you do he isn't as hard to play as it seems. • Troq (easy to understand) Troq is simple and powerful. Troq smash. Troq throw 'u'.
