    Catan: Game of Thrones

The Brothers of the Night’s Watch recognize you as a natural leader as you struggle for promotion within their ranks. You hope to gain recognition by improving infrastructure in the area south of the Wall known as the Gift. Writing / Drawing sustenance from this unforgiving landscape offers enough challenges, but you must also man and defend the Wall against the onslaught of Wildlings fighting their way into Westeros to escape the horrors that awaken in the North. Build, defend, and rise above your brothers to become the new Lord Commander. But be wary—the north holds many dangers, and winter is coming. The battle to defend the Realms of Man begins in A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch, a new strategic game designed by Klaus and Benjamin Teuber and grounded in the engrossing world of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. Take the Black. Defend Westeros. Become the Lord Commander.

  • Gamers Guild AZ IV Studio Moonrollers (Pre-Order) IV Studio

    Moonrollers

Moonrollers is a game of risk assessment and strategy that pits players against each other as ship captains competing to gain crewmates. Players begin by rolling 5 dice and must choose to attempt a requirement on an available crew card that matches one of their dice. Players commit any number of the matching dice and must choose whether to stop rolling or continue to roll their remaining dice. If they fail to roll a dice that matches a requirement they are attempting, all progress that turn is lost. If they choose to stop rolling or complete the card, their progress is saved via tokens. Some parts of each mission are particularly hazardous, awarding players who attempt them with hazard tokens that are worth prestige at the end of the game. However, the player with the most hazard symbols is reprimanded for their chaotic conduct and is awarded no extra end-game prestige. The end of the game is immediately triggered when a player has 3 crew of the same faction or a crew of each faction on their ship. The player with the most points won from completing requirements and from Hazards wins!

  • Gamers Guild AZ Indie Boards and Cards Senators GTS

    Senators

It is the late Republican period of Rome, and you are the leader of one of the factions in the city, competing for power in the Senate. You are increasing your wealth by buying up resources, then using your position to sell them to the state for fat profits. With the resulting cash, you then "buy" more Senators, controlling yet more votes in the Senate. Rome is constantly in conflict, and you know that at some point wars will increase to the point that the Senate will choose to centralize power and appoint a single leader. At that moment, the leader of the faction with the most Senators will be made Caesar. Senators is best described as an adversarial bidding game. Players earn money by purchasing resources at auction, extorting them from other players, then selling them in sets to the bank. Cash is required to support wars, defend against aggressive bids, and most importantly to buy more Senators. The game lasts a variable number of turns, and when the fourth war is revealed it immediately ends. At that point, the player with the most Senators wins. On their turn, a player first draws an event card from the deck, then takes one of three actions: a) launching an auction by putting new cards up for sale, b) extorting cards from other players, or c) cashing in sets of cards and buying new Senators. The game is simple, relatively short, and highly interactive. The key decisions are both tactical — how to value the cards at auction and how to bid for the wars, deficits, and other events given your relative position — and strategic: choosing which Senators to collect and how long to build sets versus when to cash in and buy Senators. Everyone is transacting all the time, and the game integrates different bidding systems including an open step bid (like many worker placement games) at the market auctions, blind bidding at the wars, an innovative high/low blind bid at the budget deficits, dutch auctions when new Senators arrive, and shotgun offers (similar to Kuhhandel or Medici v Strozzi) when players extort from each other.

  • Gamers Guild AZ Clearance Mega Empires: The East - Black Friday Discontinue

Mega Empires: The East - Holiday Sale

Eastern Empires is a board game for 3 to 9 players and covers the development of ancient civilizations over 8000 years of history. Eastern Empires can take up to 12 hours to complete, and still yet, it has a simple mechanism and is easy to learn. The players lead their civilizations, as they expand and collapse, from the Stone Age, through the Bronze Age to the end of the Iron Age. Eastern Empires provides a full day of fun for larger groups. CultureThough it may seem at first glance, Eastern Empires is not a wargame. Yes, conflict may be involved, but rather it is a game about history, culture, trade, development, and... calamities. The civilizations involved are all situated along the Silk Road and the Arabian Peninsula. The Babylonians, The Indus Valley civilization and The Nubians. Players develop their own unique civilization in arts, crafts, science, civics and religion. Each player starts his civilization with a single population token, 8000 BC, but grows and grows over time, and eventually cities can be built. Cities of course bring wealth and fortune, but also… natural calamities such as epidemics, famine or earthquakes, or civil calamities such as pirate attacks, slave revolts and civil disorder. TradingThis wealth is expressed in trade cards. The more cities, the more cards a player gets. These cards provide both trading commodities, and calamities. Trading is the heart of the game. A real social experience, where all players simultaneously trade with each other during a limited time. As soon as trading has ended, the players that end up with calamities will suffer them. Develop advancesAnd then, of course, it's time to do something about it. Build walls, give your citizens music and architecture. Develop religion, democracy, improve science… 51 different advances can be developed in five different categories. Maybe a player can even construct a wonder of the world, or scatter their people all over the map, and gain cultural ascendancy. The player that knows best how to work together, trade or battle for territory, defend his people against nature or enemies like barbarian hordes, and stand the test of time, eventually will win the game. After up to 12 hours of playing that is. Additional componentsCompared to its counterpart Western Empires (2019), Eastern Empires game adds additional components and scenarios that enable games with less than 5 players. Though the base game is especially designed for interaction between larger numbers, these new rules and components provide a well balanced smaller game that can even be used with its counterpart Western Empires. The game can be expanded with Eastern Empires: The Special Buildings Expansion (2019). Mega EmpiresWhen combining the board games Western Empires (2019) and Eastern Empires (2021) this forms: Mega Empires (2021), an 18-player experience. A full game of Mega Empires takes up to 13 hours to complete. This bundle contains both stand alone games, each of which can be played by 3-9 players and can be expanded with the two Special Buildings Expansions (2019) for either game or the combination of both games. Where Western Empires has a focus on sea travel and trade on the Mediterrainean Sea, Eastern Empires follows the Silk Road to India and trading is done through the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula.
