Who will triumph, the living or the undead? Find out in this asymmetrical deduction game based on Bram Stoker's Dracula. Set 10 years after the novel, Fury of Dracula (Fifth Edition) brings Dracula back from the dead for one more journey across Europe, creating more vampires and causing terror in his wake. One player takes on the titular role against up to four vampire hunters who seek to stop him in his tracks.

Fury of Dracula pits Dracula against four vampire hunters, as they follow him along his secret trail in an attempt to kill the vampire count. The hunters' only goal is to kill him, using items and traveling across Europe to find him, killing other vampires along the way. Dracula's goal is to increase his influence to 13, which he accomplishes by awakening new vampires and defeating hunters.
The new edition of Fury of Dracula doesn't introduce much in the way of new mechanics, but does offer fresh art, a new hunter known as Jonathan Harker, and a Quick-Play Variant. The Quick-Play Variant is a new gameplay option that speeds play along, taking some regions out of play and allowing hunters to travel seamlessly between ports without needing to navigate individual sea zones. If you're looking to just pick up and play, this is a great new option to get hunting faster.
While playing as Dracula, the game becomes about resource management. He moves in secret across Europe, creating more vampires in his wake, so your best bet is to set lots of traps for hunters to run into on the way to you. You want to avoid fighting multiple hunters wherever you can, and if you do get into combat with one of them, make sure you have an escape route planned before the rest arrive. If you're going to attack them, doing it early before they've geared up is a good idea as well. Moving in a zig zag pattern and leaving traps for hunters is also a great strategy, especially when you're able to weaken hunters with traps and then move in to attack while they're weakened.
Hunters, on the other hand, will want to focus on getting tools as early as possible. You definitely don't want to be caught by Dracula unarmed. If you have a player playing as Mina Harker, they'll have to travel in a pair with another player to use her ability, which allows her to learn Dracula's location as an action. She's also always weakened, so it's best to keep her protected with another player to ensure her safety.
Pre-orders are now open for Fury of Dracula (Fifth Edition), so whether you've been a fan since the game's first release in 1987 or are a newcomer looking to hunt or be hunted, the new edition makes some great new additions to add to your game experience. The game releases in September, so be sure to secure your copy before then.
