Secondary Market Services
Helping indie publishers build real market support from the ground up.
Not every great game launches with the kind of support larger games take for granted.
Singles access, visible market activity, collector confidence, deckbuilding support, and long term player trust all help a game feel real, supported, and worth investing in. Bigger games usually get those things naturally. Smaller indie games often do not.
That gap is exactly why we created Secondary Market Services.
This is our publisher-facing support framework for helping collectible games gain real secondary market presence, real player access, and stronger long term footing, even when the infrastructure does not already exist.
We built it specifically to be approachable for indie publishers.
What It Is
Not every player wants to open boxes and boxes of sealed product just to find the cards they need. Healthy games usually need reasonable singles access, visible market activity, and a sense that players can actually engage with the game on purpose, not just through chance.
Secondary Market Services is our publisher's support offering for building that infrastructure earlier.
In practical terms, this means helping create a real singles market for your game through product opening, card sorting, singles listing, pricing updates, market analysis, inventory management, and ongoing retail availability that gives players, collectors, and competitive communities better access to the pieces they want.
The goal is simple. Make the game easier to buy into, easier to collect, easier to build around, and easier to trust.
How It Works
Secondary Market Services is one service, with contract terms tailored to the needs of the game, the publisher, and the level of risk each side is taking on.
In some cases, Gamers Guild may choose to purchase product directly and assume more of the upfront product risk ourselves.
In other cases, the publisher may provide product and we structure the relationship in a way that makes meaningful secondary market support more approachable without requiring us to take on all of that risk upfront.
The service is the same in either case. The difference is how the economics and risk are allocated in the final agreement.
What We Actually Do
Secondary Market Services may include:
-
singles opening and market seeding
-
card sorting and cataloging
-
singles listing and inventory management
-
pricing updates over time based on sell through and market conditions
-
active retail availability through our channels
-
support for player access, deckbuilding, collecting, and organized play confidence
-
structured collaboration with the publisher around product goals, release timing, and long term support
Not every engagement will look identical, but the purpose is the same in every case: create a healthier, more accessible market environment around the game.
Why It Matters
A functioning secondary market is not just about buying and selling cards.
It affects how easy a game is to collect, how easy it is to build decks, how confident players feel about buying in, and how seriously the broader market takes the game.
When singles are accessible, games feel more real. They feel supported. Players feel like they can participate intentionally. Retailers and communities see signs of life. Organized play has stronger footing. Collectors have clearer signals. The whole game becomes easier to engage with.
That kind of support should not be reserved only for the biggest publishers.
We want to help good games get a fair shot.
Designed To Be Approachable
We know indie publishers are usually trying to grow carefully.
Cash flow matters. Risk matters. Every major decision matters.
That reality shaped how this service was built.
Secondary Market Services is designed to be flexible enough to support different games at different stages, without forcing every publisher into the same commercial model.
Our goal is to lower the barrier, not raise it.
We take the guesswork out of fostering a secondary market. We make results happen.
Important Clarification
Secondary Market Services is a publisher support service focused on market access, singles availability, and long term game support.
It is not a distribution service.
We do not offer distribution services.
If your title grows to the point where broader wholesale or distribution relationships make sense, we are happy to recommend trusted third party distribution partners. That would be a separate path, outside this service.
