Feya's Swamp was met with a lot of excitement when it released in 2025, and we're proud to report that it lives up to the hype. Made by the same team behind Terra Mystica, Feya's Swamp bears some similarities to its predecessor but utilizing a swampy environment, boats, and settlements to achieve your goals. Immediately, the art style of this new game is incredibly distinct and stunning, with tons of charming creatures and a colorful world to play in.
What Is Feya's Swamp?
Feya's Swamp is a worker placement and area control game focused on establishing a swamp civilization and growing your influence in Feya. In the game, players take control of a clan of swamp dwellers in search of prosperity.
Gameplay proceeds over four rounds, with three phases per round: the income phase, the turn phase, and the maintenance phase. As the game is played, each player will unlock new abilities as they continue to build, enriching play strategies and shifting priorities. Over the course of the game, players sail across the swamp to acquire victory points, developing their civilization and hosting festivals for Feya's inhabitants.
Feya's Swamp Teaching Tips
The primary mechanics of the game are based on building settlements, boat travel, and fishing. Each round, different fish will be in season, causing travel paths to shift as a result. Existing buildings stand in the way of players' boats, so it's essential to strategize for future rounds to ensure a clear path to the fish and areas required.
Choosing your strategy also requires looking at the tracks on the player boards, which unlock different upgrades as the game progresses. If you're primarily utilizing fishing to amass victory points, you'll want the upgrade that increases the number of fish you catch. Alternatively, you can add another boat along with some coins. Another track adds two additional workers. The final track increases your sailing distance. Choosing your track or tracks to focus on will allow you to tailor your strategy and fine tune your course to victory.
