Ticket to Ride: Europe - First Journey
Ticket to Ride: First Journey takes the gameplay of the Ticket to Ride series and scales it down for a younger audience. In general, players collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on their tickets. In more detail, the game board shows a map of Europe with certain cities being connect by colored paths. Each player starts with four colored train cards in hand and two tickets; each ticket shows two cities, and you're trying to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket. On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards to claim a route between two cities; for this latter option, you must discard cards matching the color and number of spaces on that route (e.g., two yellow cards for a yellow route that's two spaces long). If you connect the two cities shown on a ticket with a path of your trains, reveal the ticket, place it face up in front of you, then draw a new ticket. (If you can't connect cities on either ticket because the paths are blocked, you can take your entire turn to discard those tickets and draw two new ones.) If you connect one of the westernmost cities (Dublin, Brest, Madrid) to one of the easternmost cities (Moscow, Rostov, Ankara) with a path of your turns, you immediately claim a special cross-continent ticket. Barrage: The Colorado Connection Expansion
The Barrage: The Colorado Connection expansion includes a specific map set on the Colorado area providing a new mechanic: the Bridges. The Colorado Map includes some new elements: the Construction Sites for Bridges and the Areas for Productive Settlements. The rivers represented on the Map flow along deep canyons creating clear physical separations between the delimited regions: the presence of bridges built on the crest of the Dams will allow an easier connection between the Productive Settlements of each region; on the other hand, a Dam with a Bridge cannot be further elevated for the rest of the game. Choose carefully when to build them! The Productive Settlements are new action spaces (4 in the Mountains Area, 3 in the Hills Area, 3 in the Plains Area) that can be activated by placing the required number of Engineers. Activating a Productive Settlement has a cost in Credits that depends on the presence or absence of Bridges along the route from the Construction Site (located on the left edge in the Mountains and Plains Areas and right in the Hills Area) to the Productive Settlement you intend to activate. It's a Wonderful World: War or Peace
This expansion is a campaign allowing players to live an adventure scripted in 5 scenarios which brings, collectively during the game, players to make choices that will tip the story towards Peace or World War. At the start of a game, players open an envelope containing the story, the special rules of the scenario and the extra cards for this scenario. Then, at the end of the game, each player receives different rewards depending on whether he won or lost and according to his own choices during the game (depending on the scenario). Thus, each one builds his Heritage over the 5 scenarios. The winner of the campaign is the one who wins the last scenario. The campaign offers 6 scenarios in all because there is a branch, depending on the choice of players in scenario 4. During the campaign and after the campaign, the players will unlock cards which can come to enrich the basic game definitively. The Heritage campaigns therefore offer players to live a story and gradually unlock a mini-extension to the base game offering a new mechanic, a bit like a Legacy, but totally replayable because there is no alteration of equipment. The campaign is also playable solo.
