Conquest: Yoroni - Origami Warriors
While Domaru-damashi represent the greatest fallen warriors of the Yoroni, the nameless and featureless Origami Warriors represent the boiling, endless mass of Yoroni who simply lack the power and enlightenment to pierce the Veil. The art of Kotodama allows the Onmyoji to inscribe dozens of names upon a massive sheet of paper, where working together, these lesser entities can interact with the Prime Domain. Grateful to escape their hellish environs, the intelligences that empire the Origami warriors are willing to take all manner of dangerous and unseemly tasks for their masters, providing the bulk of the manpower and workforce for the Bakufu and its Daimyos. In fact the wealth of a Yoroni realm is measured in the number of Origami constructs it controls and generates, kami (NOT to be confused with Kami - incarnate Yoroni of the Earthen realm). How They Play:Abundant, sacrificial Yoroni daemons, the Origami Warriors - Void (Mu) - act as damage sponges protecting the more powerful and tactically significant Yoroni Stands. As troops they add to the Regiment's pool of Wounds. As Regiment Leaders they offer protection against Enemy Ranged firepower while getting other more important Yoroni troops into position. When a Regiment is composed entirely of Origami Warriors they act as a fast, disposable, early screen allowing you to buy enough time for the rest of the army to get where they need to be!

Not all beasts employed by the W'adrhun are hulking monstrosities that dominate the battlefield. They have in fact almost managed to domesticate a smaller breed, affectionately called the uzibukhali, (smart claw). Packs of these feathered menaces roam W'adrhun settlements keeping them clear of vermin and smaller predators in exchange for scraps and access to the charnel pits. In times of war they are easily wrangled into packs and unleashed upon the scouts and forerunners of the enemies force, their cunning and ferocity making them more than a match for more powerful opponents.

The Directorate has long sought to produce the perfect assassin clone, but their efforts have been incessantly stymied by the Sovereign. He has made it a matter of personal interest to ensure that all Ark vaults containing pertinent data to this research fall squarely under his direct supervision, denying the Directorate access to chameleonic strand sequences and certain personality traits, which it has sought for so long. They have instead been forced to adapt and improvise with those strands they already possess: agility, strength, aggression and some limited biomechanical functions.

Conquest: W'Adrhun - Chosen of Death
There are few warriors on any battlefield as terrifying as the chosen priestesses of Death. The deep meditative state they are capable of achieving allows them to elevate their hearing to truly superhuman levels, allowing them to "see" through sound giving them a preternatural advantage on the battlefield. They flow onto the battlefield with a deadly grace, their blindfolded forms weaving and covering one another in perfect synchronicity, the entire regiment fighting as a single organism. Entrusted by the tribes as midwives and healers, their medical training makes them deadly foes on the battlefield, their every blow precisely placed to cause the greatest harm possible, severing tendons, rupturing arteries and locking joints with pinpoint precision as they dance away from their foes' clumsy blows. Much of a City States bureaucratic apparatus is selected through a rigorous civil service exam, but the Aristarch is an exception. Handpicked from the pool of Aspirant Polemachoi by the ruling power of a City State; be it a Council, a Tyrant or even a God, an Aristarchos embodies all of the virtues of a city State and is thus chosen to lead its forces on campaign. Conquest: Spires - Vanguard Clone Infiltrators
Unlike the Brute and Force Grown Drones the Vanguard Clones are not grown in the spawning pits deep within the Underspire. Woven from 100% pure exile tissue, their strands are improved upon and woven to produce superior specimens. Infiltrator training differs radically from what Vanguards have come to expect. As Vanguard Infantry, they fought in the main battle line, counting on support from countless menial drones, beasts and sentients that forge the war machine of the Spires. Infiltrators operate independently of this complex, relying solely on their skills and those of their team mates to survive in an environment that is not only alien to them, but a population who is invariably hostile. Stealth and ambush are their chosen methods of combatant their training regime emphasizes this. Few forces on Eä can match them in their chosen craft.

Conquest: Hundred Kingdoms - Errant of the Order of the Shield
During the early reign of the Hundred Kingdoms, the Order of the Shield took it upon itself to protect man from its most dangerous predators. Eschewing the combat formations of their predecessors, the Order of the Shield traveled the lands alone and sought to alleviate suffering where they could. The Emperor elevated their Order to the rank of Imperial Magistrates, allowing the Errant Knights of the Shield to work as judge, jury and executioner against all but the most powerful of noble houses. This did not endear them to the nobility, and when the last Emperor died one of their first moves was to seek out and destroy any members of this ancient order. Today they are few and far in between but continue their thankless task of protecting the citizens and peasants of the 100 Kingdoms against all those who would prey upon them, especially the nobility itself.

A nigh seamless blend of man and goat, the Selinoi ultimately proved to be the hardiest and most adaptable of the Bred who survived. Intelligent, fast and tough, they quickly excelled at their tasks, putting them at odds with humans and painting a mark on their back when the purgest started during the Fall. Today, those Selinoi who survive have done so by learning to coexist with humanity or avoiding it as much as possible. Selinoi Hunters shun the crowded streets of the City States, choosing instead to roam the deep forests and wildlands that the invariably form around the City States. Their woodcraft and hunting skills making them invaluable scouts for the City States and their presence is tolerated and sometimes even encouraged if only to secure these capable scouts in a cities force. Conquest: Spires - Assault Preceptor
The preceptors are a creation of the Directorate. Originally intended as a front-line unit to replace the Vanguard strain whose combat prowess was based on coordination and reaction, they were retired citing the very resource intensive training process they required to be considered battle ready. Of course, one could argue, the Sovereign would also not look kindly on a tightly structured and well-coordinated fighting force capable of autonomous thought and communication. Loath to waste resources, the Directorate repurposed the project, introducing preceptor leaders to Vanguard Clone formations to increase their coordination and cohesion. So far, preliminary trials show a significant increase in battlefield performance…

Conquest: Spires - Pteraphon
One of the earliest and most successful applications of Biomancy to the art of War, the Pteraphon were originally developed by the Spires as dragon slayers. The folly of their efforts was revealed when the Elder Dragons awoke and put their efforts to shame, but the Directorate was never known for wasting resources. Refining their efforts they repurposed the suit by eliminating most of its nervous system and turning it instead into a symbiotic "suit" that grants is wearer the power of flight and enhanced senses. Of course the added neural burden of the alien musculature and sensory organs requires unsafe levels of synaptic enhancers which almost invariably leave their unfortunate pilot hosts as wretched, addicted souls. Despite this many consider this a worthy price to pay for the glory of flight and viewpoint of a god. While the bulk and offensive power of the original design was pared down, they were originally designed to combat dragons and as such remain a terrifying weapon of war against all mortal enemies. How they Play:As an aerial observer and ranged support unit, the Pteraphon significantly enhances the Spire player's battlefield awareness.
