This new expansion book features rules for playing games of Don't Look Back set in the old history of Northwood! All the rules in 1698 are compatible with the core book experience! Players will need the Don't Look Back Core Rulebook (BXXDLB3991) to play Don't Look Back: 1698.

- The book includes all-new Northwood Lore: Who is John Loughton, the man whose name adorns the modern private school, Loughton High?
- The new book contains TONS of new lore about the history of the Northwoods and the beginning of what will be known as the city of Northwood. Take a deeper look at some of the first Killers to roam the forest and locations from the Northwoods area.
- Horses: Players will find optional, advanced rules to add horses to their games of Don't Look Back.
- Minor Characters: A new type of unit for the hero players to use. Minions will allow players to replace a single Character with a small group of three Minor Characters in their games. The Cursed Crate introduces Minor Characters in the form of Loughton's scouts.
- Faith, Superstition, and Paranoia: 1698 introduces advanced, optional rules that allow Characters to find strength and folly in their Faith, Superstitions, and Paranoia. While Characters are Under Control they have access to new ways to hinder The Killer or they may slowly become Uncontrolled and find themselves even more at the mercy of The Killer. Like all the other rules, these can be used in any game of Don't Look Back!
