Usurp the King
The King may be in trouble. The court that surrounds him contains subjects who seek power. Each player represents a family that will vie for control over subjects. Featuring seven victory conditions the path to victory may shift as you gain more information about each subject’s motives and those of the other families. Your allegiances will twist and change based on your interests. The subjects are but pawns. The game is played over two phases:INTRIGUE PHASEPlayers will gather information, exert influence, and gather resources. Each member of the court has a role, each player may look at 1 role, place an influence token on a court member and select a Leverage card to add to their hand. REBELLION PHASEAfter each player has taken five turns during the Intrigue phase they will keep 5 cards in their hand and set 4 cards aside in their reserve. In order of the Leverage item number, cards will be played to bribe, conspire, stab, poison, and to shift alliances. SCORING PHASEOne of the unique aspects of this game is the 7 different victory condition. Players may change what condition they are attempting to achieve as the game evolves. The Usurper will win if two other court members are disgruntled and the Usurper has not been bribed. The King will win if the King is alive and the Usurper has not won. The Heir will win if the King is dead, the Usurper has not won and the Heir is not disgruntled. The Bastard will win if the King is dead, the Usurper and the Heir have not won and the Bastard is not disgruntled. If none of the above conditions have been met, the player that controls the most undisgruntled court members will win. When your hero completes quests, defeats baddies, and takes all the credit, they also earn loot, which you get the great honor of carrying! Squire for Hire is an 18-card, tile-laying inventory management game for 1-2 players that takes about 15-20 min to play. Players compete to get the highest scoring bag of items for their hero by the end of the story deck. Each player takes on the role of a random squire card, taking turns completing story cards and adding loot to their bag for points. You can complete story cards one of two ways: 1) having enough item value (the combined number of spaces an item type takes up in your bag) or 2) using an item (covering up an item in your bag with a new loot card). If you can complete a story card, you get to pick one of two loot cards to add to your bag; to do so, at least one full item must be placed within empty or full squares. You can cover any number of other items in your bag as long as the entire item is covered. Once all story cards have been exhausted, players add up their scores. Add 1 point for each regular item, 1 point for each pair of identical items side-by-side, and extra points for conditions met on your squire card. Visible junk items reduce your score by 1 point each, so cover them up whenever possible! Keep vital items in your bag for when you need them, pack efficiently for extra points, and eliminate junk to be the squire with the highest scoring bag! Play solo to beat your own high score with all of the cards.

This is an Expansion to: Valeria Card KingdomsRequires a copy of "Valeria: Card Kingdoms" to play. The goal of Valeria: Card Kingdoms – Darksworn is to introduce co-operative play into the Valeria world through groups of related books called Sagas. These books will lead the players through a story that unfolds during the game and offers greater immersion into the Valeria setting. New rules and cards will be introduced in each book, some lasting only through the current book and some persisting through the unfolding Saga, somewhat like a "legacy game". Darksworn uses six book-decks to tell a story of wonder, sacrifice, and adventure as you explore the territory west of Valeria and encounter a darkness that cannot go unchecked. Each book presents you with a set of new rules and several tasks that must be completed by your gaming group in order to advance to the next book in the saga. Within each book you'll find special boons to assist you and powerful monsters to challenge you. Your team will have to strike a balance between building effective tableaus of citizens that will allow you to complete the tasks and defending the decreasing center stacks of citizens that are the health of your kingdom. The play area for Darksworn is much the same as an ordinary game of Valeria: Card Kingdoms, but there are some notable changes. The story board sits above the monster row. This is where each book's story and challenges are presented, where new rules are displayed, and where citizens captured by monster attacks languish in a dark oubliette. Walls provide additional protection from the attacking monsters, but if they make it past the walls, your citizen stacks are going to suffer. At the bottom of the play area is the Blessings Board where your devotion to the radiance of Aquila can grant you special powers, free captured citizens, and even rebuild fallen walls. If any of the monsters make it through to the Blessings Board, however, all is lost.

Feudum: Rudders & Ramparts
By Jove! A splendid array of vessels have arrived at port. Will you use your wealth to procure a craft—or save your shillings to reinforce your ramparts? The Rudders & Ramparts expansion features artisan-edition vessels and castles that may be used purely for decoration—or to play a military variant of the game Feudum! Upon acquiring a regular vessel or feudum, players may pay an additional shilling to upgrade to a deluxe vessel or castle feudum. Players earn +1 attack for a deluxe vessel and +1 defense for a castle feudum. At the dawn of each epoch, players must pay 1 shilling to maintain each castle or deluxe vessel in their possession—or lose their advantage! These minor rule additions add a boatload of interesting choices! Players with castles forego the need to reinforce their feudums with subjects because a gold-clad "royal guard" accompanies each castle! Conversely, deluxe vessels make targets of any opponent in a nearby port. But beware! The expensive upkeep may slowly impoverish a player.
