When the other two layers of trays are correctly placed in the box they hold the generator in place, stopping it from moving around when the game is in storage. The two card trays are sized for sleeved cards. All the components are sorted by type and the building tiles trays allow you to organise the tiles and flip through them to get the ones you need. The two resource trays work equally well with the optional plastic pieces from the Resources Expansion® .
