General Manager (GM)

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and confident individual to join our staff as a General Manager. This role is crucial in the management of the assigned retail location and will be responsible for all the areas within that store, including sales goals, employee management, store cleanliness and appearance, inventory management, and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • People Leadership:
    • Recruit, evaluate, and motivate store staff to work as a cohesive team that reaches department goals.
    • Interview and hire new candidates while working with HR.
    • Supervise the onboarding process for new hires, providing necessary training sessions and documentation while following company policies.
    • Manage the staff schedule and rotation to minimize staffing costs while maximizing revenue.
  • Storefront Management:
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of the store operations, including stock control, cash management, sales forecasts, staffing forecasts, and daily reports.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures by all parties in the store location.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, equal opportunity regulations, and other relevant employment laws.
    • Present an accurate brand image and maintain visual merchandising standards.
    • Able to answer short inquiries and assist with matters pertaining to your responsibilities while away from the store location.
  • Inventory Audits and Management:
    • Communicate with Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient stocking of the store.
    • Order product and supplies as needed from the appropriate vendors.
    • Audit inventory to ensure efficient use of retail space.
  • Customer Service and Escalations:
    • Act as Manager on Duty to ensure positive customer experience.
    • De-escalate customer complaints using store guidelines.
    • Enforce the Code of Conduct and escalate any CoC complaints to the Executive team.
    • Acting as a principal contact point between the customer and the company, providing data to improve processes and adapt our services and products to local consumers.
  • Event Management and Execution:
    • Notify the community through announcements and advertisements both in-person and online via discord.
    • Allocate table space for events to avoid seating clashes.
    • Handle Members Nights announcements and catering.
    • Generate event ideas to drive customer engagement in-store and online.

      Qualifications

      • Proven experience of a similar role in the retail industry. Preferably in the tabletop industry.

      • Strong leadership and people management skills.
      • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
      • Ability to work flexible hours in a 7/365 work environment.
      • Excel / Spreadsheet and other Microsoft office proficiency.
      • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
      • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, budget management skills, and inventory control skills.
      • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing business priorities.
      • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills including a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service, the ability to react appropriately under pressure, and the ability to apply good judgment in ambiguous situations.

      • Pay: $62,000 - $75,000 per Year
