Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual who has retail experience and wants to work towards reaching their career goals within a growing organization. The Card Department Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, buying cards from customers, organizing and sorting card inventory, fulfilling card orders, and assisting the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while working as a team.
Responsibilities

Card Department Operations:
- Efficiently handling transactions at the register, ensuring accuracy, and providing excellent customer service.
- Listing trading cards for sale and organizing them alphabetically within the inventory.
- Performing regular inventory checks and audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Carrying out assigned shift duties according to established operating procedures.
- Adapting to new and improved standardized processes as introduced.
- Buying various trading cards from customers, following store policies and pricing guidelines.
- Reporting safety issues promptly to managers for resolution.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of department product lines to assist customers effectively.
- Customer Service:
- Efficiently handling transactions at the register, ensuring accuracy and providing excellent customer service.

- Order Fulfillment:
- Accurately interpreting and understanding customer orders.
- Verifying order details, including product specifications, quantity, and any special instructions.
- Ensuring products are available and in stock for fulfillment.
- Updating inventory records in real-time to reflect order processing.
- Safely and securely packaging items to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhering to packaging guidelines and standards to meet customer expectations.
- Properly label packages with accurate shipping information.
- Generating and attaching shipping labels in compliance with carrier requirements.
- Conducting quality checks to verify the condition and accuracy of products.
- Addressing any discrepancies or issues before shipping.
- Coordinating with shipping carriers to arrange timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Choosing appropriate shipping methods based on customer preferences and urgency.
- Providing customers with order status updates and tracking information.
- Handling customer inquiries related to order fulfillment professionally and promptly.
- Managing the process for returns and exchanges efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
- Ensuring returned items are appropriately handled.
- Focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations throughout the fulfillment process.
- Eager to share ideas to continually improve our online ordering experience.
- Utilizing order and inventory management systems and hardware such as label printers.
Qualifications
- Belief in the Gamers Guild AZ Code of Conduct and values.
- Capable of lifting 20-30lbs for moderate durations, typically around 30 minutes per shift.
- Categorical working knowledge of Magic: The Gathering as well as basic knowledge of various other collectible card games.
- Ability to identify fake cards following a set of guidelines.
- Ability to sit down and stand up repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Online ordering fulfillment skills.
- Capable of using inventory management system software.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel.
- Superb organizational talent.
- Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills.
- Customer service skills.
