Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00/hr DOE

Role Overview:

The Overnight Retail Auditor is responsible for verifying store inventory accuracy as well as ensuring proper pricing and product placement after hours. This role involves conducting detailed audits of stock counts, reconciling discrepancies between physical inventory and system records, and preparing reports for management.

The auditor also checks for compliance with company standards, identifies shrinkage or loss issues, and supports store readiness for the next business day—all while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Verification: Conduct detailed physical counts of products and compare them with system records to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Data Reconciliation: Identify and document discrepancies between physical stock and digital records; report findings to management.

  • Pricing and Labeling Checks: Verify that all products are correctly priced and merchandised according to company standards.

  • Loss Prevention: Monitor for signs of shrinkage, theft, or damage, and escalate concerns as needed.

  • Compliance Auditing: Ensure store displays, signage, and product placements meet company standards and safety guidelines.

  • Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate audit reports summarizing findings, variances, and recommendations for improvement.

  • Collaboration: Communicate with store leadership and operations teams to address discrepancies or process issues.

  • Store Readiness: Maintain organization and cleanliness in audit areas, ensuring the store is prepared for opening.

  • Safety and Security: Follow all overnight safety procedures and protect store assets during non-business hours.

  • Experience: 1–2 years of retail, auditing, or inventory management experience; Proven overnight or off-hours work experience is required.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Analytical Ability: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills for identifying and reconciling inventory discrepancies.

  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with store leadership.

  • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain focus during overnight shifts.

  • Physical Requirements: Capable of standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs during audit activities.

  • Reliability: Consistent punctuality and dependability for overnight scheduling and deadlines.
