The Colors of the Realm contest continues to shine a spotlight on the incredible talent in our Gamers Guild community! After an exciting start of our second competition at our North Phoenix store, we’re bringing the competition to Tempe. Calling all painters, hobbyists, and miniature fans to join in!
From first-time painters to seasoned experts, everyone is welcome to showcase their creativity and skill. Entries will be proudly displayed in-store, where the community can admire your work. Winners will earn store credit prizes, but the real reward is sharing your passion for the hobby.
With quarterly contests rotating between Tempe and North Phoenix, there’s always a fresh chance to enter, improve, and celebrate miniature painting together.
Purchases may be made online or in-store during the 4-week long registration period beginning on the dates listed above.
Models may be from any product line in our stores.
Save your receipt that shows the order number or check your order number through your Gamers Guild account online.
Register Your Model Using the Registration Survey
The registration survey will open for submissions on the dates listed above for each location.
You must provide your model number at time of registration.
Assemble, Prime, & Paint Your Model
Once registered, you will receive an email from our event managers informing you the painting period has begun once the registration period closes.
The painting period will last for 3 weeks after the registration period closes. By the time registration closes you must have submitted your model to the store.
Take the time to prime and paint your model during this time. The judges will be taking creativity and painting techniques into account. Use your own style and flair to make your entry stand out!
Kit-bashing is allowed, provided that all parts used come from official kits and do not include any 3D printed components. (This includes the base of the model)
The final model must still consist primarily of the original kit.
Judging
Once your model is ready for submission, bring it to the location hosting the current painting competition for display and judging (even if it is before the submission deadline).
Volunteer Tabletop Ambassadors will judge the Best in Show Award and Most Creative Award while the community votes anonymously for People's Choice Award. This stage of judging and voting will take 3 weeks.
