Raiders of the North Sea is set in the central years of the Viking Age. As Viking warriors, players seek to impress the Chieftain by raiding unsuspecting settlements. Players will need to assemble a crew, collect provisions and journey north to plunder gold, iron and livestock. There is glory to be found in battle, even at the hands of the Valkyrie. So gather your warriors, it’s raiding season! The aim of Raiders of the North Sea is to impress the Chieftain by having the most Victory Points (VP) at the game’s end. Victory Points are gained primarily by raiding Settlements, taking Plunder and making Offerings to the Chieftain. How players use their Plunder is also vital to their success. The game ends when either only 1 Fortress raid remains, all Valkyrie are removed, or all Offerings have been made. In Raiders of the North Sea: Hall of Heroes, a mead hall has been constructed, attracting a new breed of adventurers. Each raid brings new quests for the daring to endure. But with mead in abundance, there is little room for the wary. So sharpen your axe and ready your shield, there are new adventures awaiting! Hall of Heroes brings in new ways of gaining resources, acquiring crew and scoring Victory Points. After each raid, a new Quest is placed onto the Board. To complete a Quest, players will need to send (discard) warriors from their hand of a certain strength value. Once completed, the Quest is placed above a Player's Board and will score Victory Points at the game's end. Each Quest also rewards players with Iron, Gold, Silver and other resources. At first, all I could feel was vibrations in my feet, then, a low rumble that seemed to shake the entire ship. It grew louder until it was almost deafening. The ship lurched to one side, and I instinctively reached for the nearest post — despite the flames that crawled up it. There was a screeching sound that seemed to come from everywhere… And then I was on my back. The wood splintered as it crashed around me. The room flooded with water. Then I saw it: a tentacle the size of a ship’s mast crashed through the room, obliterating everything in sight. But I was ready for this! I knew the Kraken was in these waters. So I took up my axe and pushed my way toward the treasure… When playing with The Kraken, the gameplay remains the same as Dead Men Tell No Tales, with the following exceptions: A new threat has emerged from the sea! In order to win the game, in addition to getting the treasure and your pirates off the ship, you must ALSO kill the Kraken. If the Kraken destroys the ship or pulls it underwater, you lose the game.

Shipwrights of the North Sea is set in the early years of the Viking Age, circa 900 AD. As Viking shipwrights, players compete to build the greatest fleet on the North Sea. Players must collect oak, wool and iron, as well as getting other craftsmen on board to help. Gold is a precious commodity, and must be spent wisely. As you would expect, the township is filled with an array of characters, bad and worse. Better hope they're on your side! Aim of the Game The aim of Shipwrights of the North Sea is to be the player with the most Victory Points at the game’s end. Points are gained by constructing various Ships and Buildings. The game ends after the round where 1 or more players constructs their 4th ship. Gameplay Overview The game is played over a series of days (rounds).
