Similar to locations, the Guardians are placed in the middle, but between encounters. At the beginning, 6 Guardians are dealt face down, one for every other encounter. Each Guardian has a unique ability and belongs to one of the four faction. It‘s effect is activated if you play a card of the belonging faction in the encounter where the Guardian is placed.
