Wreck Raiders is an innovative dice-drafting worker placement system. Choose a die from the pool, then send one of your divers to any spot on the board with that number. But be warned: the spot you choose will help any diver in the spots next to you, whether they’re friendly or not. Will you risk letting a rival in on your haul to get that treasure you want, or can you find a way to grab yourself some extra loot? Display your treasures to build museum exhibits, or send them to your vault for huge scoring opportunities... Don’t forget to visit the beach nearby to gather washed-up baubles and spend them to build awesome aquariums. (All sea creatures are treated ethically and released into the wild; also, they are cardboard tiles.) When the game ends, you’ll earn coins for your exhibits, your vault, and your aquariums.   The harbor of Port Royal is as lively as ever. But you need a bigger crew—and quickly! On the various islands throughout the Carribean Sea, you can hire crew members and loot some treasures along the way. Put your luck to the test against the dice! The more you risk, the more you can cross off your game map. Roll the dice, but avoid a second ship of a color. Hire people for their abilities and victory points. Be the first to score 20 points or try your luck in a round of Sudden Death. The four maps included in the game gradually add new elements, increasing the difficulty.

In this respect, the game is a reverse tower defense game, as players sail the perimeter trying to push back and contain the oil, remove dice from the water and save the sea life.Communal resource cards are chosen by the team before the game begins and are then powered for use by either removing 3 oil dice from the game or saving a full set of 6 marine creatures.It takes coordination and teamwork to win, as new oil dice are dropped at the beginning of every turn and the number of oil dice dropped increases over the course of the game.If the team can accomplish all three objectives on their WIN Condition card and remedy any potential losing conditions on the board by the end of a given turn - they win.
